Judge denies charges
Elkhart Superior Court judge Benjamin Pfaff escaped criminal charges after he was accused of roughing up an 18 year old and threatening him with a gun while in search of his run-away daughter, but now he is being investigated by the Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications. The judge is charged with giving false information to the police during the criminal investigation, charges he denies:
Judge Pfaff denies that he falsely represented the facts or circumstances surrounding this incident in such statements (to sheriff’s department investigators and the special prosecutor),” according to the response. “… Judge Pfaff did not forcibly grab and restrain Bryan Schiltz, nor did he point a loaded firearm at his head. Judge Pfaff did not threaten Bryan Schiltz that he ‘better talk or he’s going to die’ … nor did he point a firearm at Schiltz for several minutes, as alleged.”

The Supreme Court will now appoint 3 masters to hear the charges and make recommendations to the Court.
