Here they come

11,200 sows could be coming is the lead on the Pal-item story on Wayne County proposed first Confined Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO).  Iowa’s Natural Pork Production II is proposing to to put the farm in off Centerville Road, near Randolph County Line Road, and goes before the Wayne County Board of Zoning Appeals for preliminary approval this Thursday at 6:00 P.M.

The story also covers proposed regulations in Wayne County that would put limits on CAFO’s beyond the state regulations, but these would not apply to this proposal as they filed their application prior to the enactment of the new regulations.
