Rural Courthouses of Indiana
The plight of the Randolph County Courthouse continues. Marcia, over at the Indiana Law Blog Reports today that a report from a structural engineer reveals that the 1875 structure is in very poor shape.
Maybe this is what has prompted the county’s recent return to an old idea: Randolph County again looking to buy old Wal-Mart.
Fayette County has recently completed their courthouse expansion project. The courts are currently crammed into the expansion while a renovation of their space in the old structure is renovated.
Meanwhile, the Union County Circuit Court continues to run out of the Liberty Mini Mall while the courthouse undergoes a top to bottom renovation.
Finally, over in Green County, the commissioners are trying to work their way through a legal dispute with the general contractor for their courthouse renovation: County officials approve resolution
