Wayne County Aids Task Force: Prosecution Time

Well, it has taken since about this time last year, but the ex-director of the now defunct Aids Task Force of Central Indiana, William R. Selkirk, Jr., has been charged by Wayne County Prosecutor, Michael Shipman,  with 9 counts of D Felony Theft. The charges were filed yesterday, and the Pal-Item has the story on the front page. (Not up on the web yet, I’ll catch it later).

The organization failed as the board of directors split between those accusing Selkirk of misappropriation of funds, and those supporting Selkirk. After six months of infighting, the Indiana Department of Health pulled it’s $230,000 plus in grants from the organization, shutting it down.

Of course, this left hundreds of clients in the lurch, having been supported by the group for years as they battled the deadly disease.

Hello, I am one of the people taken advantage of by Selkirk. While he was employed at patterson industries,(after the taskforce) he saw a website where I displayed some of my “stirling cycle engines”. Selkirk contacted me,and said he was a vice president, and ask if I wanted to produce an engine on a commercial basis. Contract forms were exchanged, and 4 complete engines were sent to him for testing. He sent a check for deposit on the engines, but the check was never any good until too much time had passed rendering the check unusable. I did get three of the engines back, thanks to the folks at patterson, but they packed them pooly, and all were damaged during shipment. The last engine has never turned up,despite all the best efforts I could make. The local police and sheriff’s departments have pictures of the missing engine, but I am sure I will never see it again. It was of special construction to be used as a small generator,or pump, and able to run off almost any kind of heat fuel,or even solar!
I am sure that over the years I am but one of many, this person has taken advantage of.
