New CWA CAFO Rules are Out
With little notice, the Bush administration released the new CAFO rules on Friday - with an overly full news cycle, few have noticed, but you can read them here (PDF).
What’s included? Self-certification, zero discharge = no Clean Water Act permit. Operators will also have to start showing their math on how they came up with their application rates in nutrient management plans. Good stuff - should be a lot less hassle to operate a CAFO in the future. . .

p.s. for best google map viewing of the stain of CAFO wastelands, again, starting from Brighton Indiana (LaGrange County), using the sat viewing mode keep slowly zooming out until you can see a couple counties at once. Then, zoom out some more until you can see sections of northern Indiana and Southern Michigan together.
You can also zoom in on individual fields to locate CAFO wasters who spread near homes, churches, wetlands, rivers, ditches, ect.
